Busting some myths about eggs consumption

12 March 2018

Borges - Golden eggs

For a while, in the eyes of many, eggs were the chief enemy of good health and wellbeing and were believed to be almost solely responsible for many people’s heart problems.

Since then, however, many scientific studies have proven without any doubt that eating an egg a day has no ill effects on our heart, as publicised by the Instituto de Estudios del Huevo, based on the findings of various international research studies published in The Journal of Nutrition, which have shown that eating six eggs a week for twelve weeks improves the optical density of macular pigment and boosts levels of zeaxanthin in the blood.

This means that eggs, a key food for everybody, are especially good for the elderly. So much for anyone who ever said you shouldn’t eat more than one egg a week!
